Vegas for Adults Only

OK here is a disclaimer before you even read the blog post:::: STRONG OPINON ALERT

I have a very strong opinion about Las Vegas and it has not changed since having a child. I believe that Las Vegas should just be for adults!  If you are visiting Las Vegas do yourself and everyone else a favor and leave the kids at home safe and sound with a relative or baby sitter.  I have gone to Las Vegas many times, I even got married there, and every time I have gone my trip has been in one way or another affected by a kid that should have been left at home.

On our recent trip I was amazed at how many small children were hanging out or screaming in their strollers in the casinos!  The smokey, loud, awesomeness of the casino at 1 in the morning.  I love going to restaurants and bringing Tommy to great new sights- but the smokey casino- um no.  Also, for some reason in Las Vegas it just seems wrong to see children when you are gambling, eating out, or heading out to a night club.  I mean can we at least keep them in their rooms with a baby sitter, at 1 in the morning. With all the scandalously dressed men and women roaming the streets heading out for the night to partake in the straight or gay scene.  You just never know what you are going to run into, hopefully without your stroller.

On our recent trip we stayed at the Aria indulged in a meal courtesy of our winnings at BRAND and spent a lot of time walking around the strip and soaking in the luxury and necessity of a couple to sometimes be kid free.  It felt good- except when I had to worry about other people’s children!

The next time you decide on a vacation destination, if it’s Las Vegas- let’s keep the nights kid free!
