Moving Coast to Coast

For some reason or another my family for many many years can’t quite make up our minds.

Are we East Coast or West Coast people?

The moves can be traced back to my mom who first got the bug to move to California when she married my father and drove out in Cali from Boston in a hippie bus.  At some point they moved back.

Fast forward to 8th grade for me, our family moved once again to Cali, this time just my mom, brother and I in a toyota corolla with only a few boxes. This time we stayed awhile.

I moved and my mom also moved back to the East Coast in 2000 – driving out my Kia, that I affectionately named brown sugar. That winter was hard, I moved back to Cali in September of 2001, then ummmm yep you guessed it back to Boston in 2002, once again with the Kia, only a few boxes to my name.

Last year my mom well she moved back to Cali, with only a few boxes to her name.  She took a plane and her car well it made the journey alone. Her house remains in New Hampshire is in need of a Los Angeles movers to save the day.  To say she is overwhelmed is an under statement.  The thought of moving her stuff and finding a Los Angeles moving company is making her think twice and once again question is she……

East Coast or West Coast?

I keep telling her that there are companies out there that will do it all for you, like LA movers, but she still can’t seem to decide what she wants or who she wants to be.

I can’t say that I blame here.  I like it here on the East Coast, but I too feel the draw of the West Coast.  It would be Very nice to be close to family and friends.  Very nice to go for walks on the beach.  Very nice to not have to wear mittens or hats.

I better stop now before I convince myself to make the move, once again.

I moved out to Northern Cali from NY when I was a junior in high school. Although I only lived there for a couple of years before I moved back to NY, I always consider myself a west coast person. I loved it there.
