It has been YEARS since I went to Storyland, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. Every summer my grandparents would visit and take my brother and I, from about age 4 to 10. We would take the same standard pictures so they could marvel at how much we had grown each year. I’m hoping to get my hands on these pictures in a few weeks!
A trip to Storyland meant entering an exciting world where characters from the books I so loved came to life. Fun and laughter on the rides and a chance to spend time with my grandparents who I loved more than anything else in the world.
We left our house early in the morning and stayed until the park closed. I remember making our way up the curvy roads until we made it to the parking lot…and racing to the gate knowing that we were bound for a great day.
This year my brother and I will once again be going to Storyland…this time with our son’s, my mom, and my 60 something year old uncle..who is equally as excited as the kids! How cool is that? I can’t wait to experience Storyland again and see the joy in our kiddos eyes. Making that run to the gate and staying until they close… and of course taking pictures of our kids at all the sites.
Storyland is only 2.5 hours from Boston. You could make it in a day, but we are opting to stay in the area and make a family trip out of a long weekend. There is so much to do in the area, including swimming in echo lake, walking around North Conway…I even hear there is a Thomas the Train ride, but don’t tell Tommy not sure if we can fit that in too!
Now for the REALLY FUN PART- YOUR CHANCE To WIN Tickets! I am giving away 2 adult tickets to Storyland. The Giveaway is open until July 10th at 5 p.m. (est). You must be 18 years of age to enter and use the tickets by October 8, 2012.
